Job Description :: SST - Systems Support Technician
 Job Title: Systems Support Technician Status: Non-Exempt Department: Information Technology Reports to: IT Manager Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00-4:00, flexible Job Summary:  This position is the primary contact for general systems support of company owned computer and network equipment. Additional responsibilities include being the primary point of contact for technical support of production and backup for the IT Manager. Daily interaction with Codonics employees including sales, engineering, manufacturing personnel are expected. This position is also responsible for supporting internal software and equipment used in production and shipping. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and troubleshoot software, computer systems and network equipment owned by Codonics. Primary point-of-contact for B2 personnel to troubleshooting problems and determine appropriate courses of action resolve problem including handoff of problems to other departments if additional expertise is required. (i.e. Keep Production Going) Support and Train end-users (including troubleshoot problems, demonstrate features of applications and explain new technologies or steps). Ability to perform basic Unix/Linux operations (edit files, navigate file system, understand basic shell scripts) Work with Engineering to implement, test, document and deploy software solutions to support manufacturing. Maintenance of Network/Systems documentation Act as primary backup for IT Department in additional areas (ERP, Mail, DNS, DHCP, Web Servers, etc). Understand the nature of the company’s business and corporate objectives and apply to assignments. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Skills: Required: Ability to install, configure, and maintain personal computers, networks, and related hardware and software. Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems. Knowledge of computer and network applications, procedures, and techniques. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical personnel. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Ability to provide technical guidance and training to end-users. Maintain knowledge of current technological developments and trends. Optional: Experience working with Fourth Shift or another ERP package. Experience supporting database systems. Education and/or Experience: 2 -year degree in Information Systems or related field experience
